MSC Cruises will introduce new kids activities and a web series aimed at teenagers on board its new ship.
As the family cruise market continues to be the fastest growing at sea, cruise lines are launching new kids-friendly amenities, activities, facilities and entertainment on what seems to be a daily basis in order to keep up with the demand and stay ahead of the competition.
Case in point is MSC Cruises, which has just announced that there will be brand new kids activities on board its new flagship launching in November, MSC Grandiosa. What’s more, the family cruise line will also be introducing a new web series targeted at teenagers as this age group now makes up a significant percentage of the cruise line’s young passengers.
Matteo Mancini, MSC Cruises’ children’s entertainment manager, commented: “The growing number of teens sailing with us, 13 to 17-year-olds, now make up 40 per cent of our young guests – this has driven our development of exciting new teen-focused entertainment activities and a new web series dedicated to teens.
“We are delighted to launch MSC Dance Crew, Spy Mission and The Drone Academy onboard MSC Grandiosa later this year and announce that filming is underway for ‘Cabin 12006’ – our new teens web series coming online early next year.”
MSC Dance Crew is a competition-based experience developed in partnership with Fremantle (the global production company behind The X Factor and Got Talent series) whereby teams of 12 to 17-year olds will battle it out to win the title of ‘dance crew of the year’; The Drone Academy, a high-tech and high-energy drone relay race; and Spy Mission, the cruise line’s first immersive, roaming spy experiences whereby young passengers must follow clues and solve the mystery to win a host of prizes.
Following the success of ‘Kelly & Kloe Onboard’, MSC Cruises’ kids web seasons, the cruise line is introducing a brand-new web series, Cabin 120006, targeted at teens. Scheduled to launch in early 2020, the seven-episode series follows teenager Markus as he embarks on his first ever cruise….
