Family vacation giant Disney is expanding its move into river cruising with its first river trips in France.
The company on Wednesday revealed that its Adventures by Disney division will offer 21 river cruises in 2019 — the most it has offered since beginning river trips in 2016.
The voyages will include new nine-night trips on France’s Seine River as well as seven-night Danube and Rhine sailings. The company this year only is offering voyages on the Danube and Rhine.
Disney has been partnering with river line AmaWaterways to operate its river trips. Shore tours and on-board activities also have been custom-designed with families in mind.
The new Seine River trips will combine a two-night stay in Paris with seven nights aboard an AmaWaterways vessel on the Seine. Along the way, passengers will visit small French towns such as Conflans and Vernon. They’ll also travel to the D-Day beaches in Normandy.
The Seine trips also can be extended with a stay at the Disneyland Paris Resort.
Disney plans four departures of the Seine itinerary in 2019. Two will be scheduled for the summer and aimed at families. The other two will take place in the fall and be exclusively for adults. The latter will offer curated food- and wine-themed experiences both on and off the ship.
Disney said it would offer ten sailings on the Rhine in 2019,….
