Princess Cruises has continued its tradition of inviting underprivileged children onboard its premium cruise liner to kick-off the homeporting season in Singapore.
Over 60 children from the Lakeside Family Service Centre and Beacon Primary School as well as their family members visited the Sapphire Princess for a day and enjoyed a ship tour specially organised by the ship’s dedicated Youth Staff, giving the children a cruise experience with many exciting onboard activities.
This initiative is part of Princess Cruises’ corporate social responsibility programme in Singapore, designed to extend goodwill to the local community. It also underscores the cruise line’s commitment in caring for the community it operates in.
“We have celebrated the launch of our homeporting seasons in Singapore each year with a children’s event onboard and we are continuing this practice by treating the children to a day of food, games and entertainment onboard the Sapphire Princess. It is truly heartening to see the smiling faces of the children and give them precious bonding time with their families onboard a world-class cruise liner“, said Farriek Tawfik, Director of Southeast Asia, Princess Cruises.
The children and their families were also given a tour of the ship while it was berthed at Marina Bay Cruise Centre, its home port. They discovered how meals are prepared for the ship’s thousands of guests and had fun taking part in entertaining games before enjoying a specially-prepared lunch. Captain Paolo Ravera also made time to meet the children and their families and chatted with them before posing for group photos….
