PARTICIPANTS are needed for a boat whose crew is made up of people living with a disability to take part in Jubilee Sailing Trust Australia’s voyage from Fiji to Cairns next month.

Project manager Peter Mitchell said the experience would encourage self-discovery, breakdown prejudice, promote equality and mutual understanding.

“A voyage with the JST is about joining in with all aspects of sailing, regardless of your physical ability,” he said.

“Don’t worry if you haven’t sailed before, most people step on board Tenacious have no experience of sailing a tall ship.” Tenacious includes wheelchair lifts between decks and a speaking compass for the vision impaired.
